How to revoke token approvals

Revoking removes a contract's standing permission to move a token from your wallet. Here's how to find and revoke risky approvals safely.

Public address only. No wallet connection. Nothing to sign.

Why revoke at all?

Every approval you've ever signed is still active until you revoke it. If a contract you approved turns malicious or gets exploited, it can move that token without asking you again. Revoking closes the door.

Step 1: find your approvals

Scan your public address to list every approval across chains and see which are risky (unlimited allowances, unverified or flagged spenders). You don't need to connect a wallet to look.

Step 2: revoke the risky ones

Open the approval on revoke.cash, connect your wallet, and send a revoke transaction. You pay a small gas fee. Start with unlimited approvals to unverified or unknown contracts.

Step 3: stay ahead of new ones

Every swap, mint or bridge can add a new approval. A one-time cleanup helps, but continuous monitoring catches the next risky approval the moment it appears.

FAQ

Does revoking cost money?

Yes: a small gas fee per revoke, paid in the chain's native token. Checking your approvals is free.

Is it safe to revoke?

Yes. Revoking only removes a permission; it never moves your funds. You sign the revoke from your own wallet.
